For over 30 years I’ve worked in various jobs from dishwasher to middle management. After receiving my associate degree in business with a minor in transportation, the next logical step was the trucking industry. Being the operations manager for a local trucking company was a rewarding position, a great place to work but also a great spring board to owning my own business.Even though being a mother and grandmother is truly my first love I still wanted to start my own business.  Starting a trucking company or doing anything pertaining to that industry was very expensive and risky. My thoughts kept coming back to the two things I like to do best, cook and eat barbeque. So in 1996 I started Bill & Diane’s BBQ Ltd.  My talents and instincts were apparently pretty good and the business grew  rapidly. As the business grew my sons and other family members helped with the work. It wasn’t long before the grandchildren got involved also.

 

Growth

In 2005, with the family business growing and all of the family participating, we decided the next step was to branch out and we changed the name to Grandma’s Backyard BBQ. This seemed more appropriate and had a homey feeling to it plus it’s now 100% family owned and operated. The best part is it reflected my feelings toward my grandchildren. I am so grateful for all of the success that I have had but my greatest successes  are my children and grandchildren.  I’m proud of them for so many reasons and appreciate the help they give me with Grandma’s Backyard BBQ. They make it all worthwhile.  Grandma’s has continued to grow each year and we are thankful to all our loyal customers for making this happen. We have been lucky enough to have been featured in several newspapers as well as a short radio interview while at an anniversary party in Tiffin, Ohio.

We cater all size parties, organizations and companies in the Northwestern  Ohio area. From graduations, family reunions, weddings to fundraisers and business organizations.  We help bring people together to enjoy good food and good company. In these trying economic times a successful barbeque  fits the bill.
